Problem
I worked for Detica, part of BAE Systems Digital, on two occasions. They’ve since been renamed. I joined them firstly as a freelancer while they were developing the corporate website in 2013. I was part of a small design team of UI and UX designers redesigning the sprawling corporate website. The existing content was extremely dry and confusing. The navigation and homepage was too complicated.
Solution
I worked with a small team he had already been n the project for sometime. A simpler/bolder grid layout was developed to make designing the many different pages easier. Dynamic photography of BAE Systems many exciting and complex engineering projects was brought front and centre for maximum impact. Employees testimonies and storeys were used to humanise the brand. We also focused on making sure the site was responsive across various devices. I helped to design some of the early concepts while embracing UX principles.
