Air (standalone) and Air integrated into MS Teams were integral in generating a significant percentage of this revenue for Impact’s virtual programs. Impact’s virtual delivery before 2019 was 6% this rose to 93% during the pandemic in 2019. This in part saved the company during Covid 19. Air2.0 is currently in development.
Problem
Impact is a Leadership development company. It delivers face-to-face solutions Worldwide. Around 2018 clients started asking for remote virtual programmes. A small digital department was created to find ways to address this growing problem.
Challenge
To create a piece of software that had to perform multiple functions. Including a chat system, coaching call scheduler, private cloud, and notifications. It had to work on mobile and desktop. It was an enormous learning curve. The business was sceptical. We had a hard deadline of 12 months. The product had already been sold to a blue chip client!
Solution
We created a web application called air that worked on mobile and desktop. A native app was deemed too expensive. We adopted the Agile scrum methodology of working in sprints. This enabled us to focus more easily on solving complicated problems. We worked in a small tight team of three people initially.
