Problem
Jennings, a much-loved local brewery with over 200 years of history, closed after the pandemic — seemingly for good. A passionate local couple revived it, acquiring the historic site and original recipes from Carlsberg. I was keen to contribute; though I missed the main bottle range, I was later commissioned to design a heritage label for a limited-edition release celebrating Jennings’ origins in 1828.

Challenge
The brief was to create a nostalgic design for a wine-sized bottle — distinct from the main range yet still rooted in Jennings’ heritage. It needed to feel authentic, contemporary, and subtly premium.

Solution
I explored several directions before developing a design that balanced historic charm and luxury appeal. Traditional typefaces and heritage detailing combined with subtle cues from modern spirits branding. Working with an artworker, we refined the layout with foil accents that brought the design to life. The result was warmly received by the owners — and I hope to collaborate with them again soon.
