Problem
After creating Inscape rooms we started to explore integrating third-party software to create virtual mini-client events. This was in part to give clients a tester of Inscape rooms potential without the cost.
Solution
WE used a lobby holding area from Inscape rooms on a timer to host waiting participants. They were then directed to explore and enter other spaces for set periods, returning to the lobby when finished. Some of these spaces were facilitated while others were designed to be asynchronous. Early third-party software has included Spatial Chat and more recently Mibo. This combination of our own software with third-parties has allowed us to leverage powerful user experiences without having to build new software every time. Each experience is tailored to the client’s needs. I designed the UI for the lobby area which used a timer and three.js. Isometric backgrounds were created for SpatialChat utilising the client’s branding.
