Problem
Impact International have several corporate websites. The safety website is used to instruct participants with necessary information before attending one of the company face to face courses. The site was dated, bloated and difficult to navigate. Safety is paramount to the company as some of the leadership work still remains in the outdoors. We have safety officers and staff who administrates and ensure best practices are always adhered to. We aim for the very best in Safety Standards and this is recognised internationally. The site holds a wealth of safety information and procedures that are regularly updated for the whole global business. The site contains an overwhelming amount of content to digest. All important.
Solution
I redesigned the UI and reduced the number of pages. I tried to make this more manageable for the user by using accordions where possible to hide information when it was not needed. Thus saving the endless scroll on mobile and helping the user to focus on important content. Material design was used throughout the site to help introduce better practice with regards to dropdowns, input fields and iconography. Bold photography courtesy of Unsplash was used to humanise the site and replace the poor quality mobile imagery.
