Problem
This was the last project I worked on while at Impact International and it was still in progress when I left. Since its completion in 2018 ‘Air’ has proved itself to be a really successful piece of software. Partly saving the company during the pandemic when face to face learning wasn’t possible. After several years of small increments, we finally had the opportunity/resource to improve and develop Air 2.0. However, with only a tiny team we had to prioritise what we thought we could achieve.
Solution
A road map was created after multiple feedback sessions with key stakeholders and a selection of our users. Key improvements were needed to both the front and backend. I worked on developing the UI and UX experience so it was clearer and richer across mobile and desktop. Improvements included the development of long scrolling. To make navigation and digesting content simpler. A new content management interface/system was also developed to make new client journeys easier to design and build. A preview area was an important development. Impact had also recently rebranded and this was to be a determining factor in the new UI.
Some of the UI improvements included:
• Larger and stronger titles
• Full-width photography & video
• Long scroll for improved navigation
• Social interactions
• Simpler content creator interface
• Improved accessibility
